The governance of the foundation is a led by a board of directors comprised of the VMS executive officers and the chairs of the VMS Investment and Awards Committees, the dean of the UVM College of Medicine and four additional at-large directors.

The Foundation’s executive leadership is provided by Foundation Administrator and Director of Education and Research Cy Jordan, M.D. Dr. Jordan has spent nearly two decades studying and implementing innovative care quality measurement and improvement programs. Prior to that, he practiced family medicine and pediatrics in inner-city Boston and Vermont.

Dr. Jordan served as chair of the board of directors of the Vermont Information Technology Leaders, Vermont’s HITECH Regional Extension Center from 2007-2009. He currently serves on the board of the Vermont Manufacturing Extension Center, a federal and state partnership to promote production and service efficiencies in both the private and public sectors. Additionally, Cy is a member of the New England Comparative Effectiveness Public Advisory Council (CEPAC) for the Institute for Clinical and Economic Review (ICER) at the Massachusetts General Hospital’s Institute for Technology Assessment.

Dr. Jordan is a graduate of Dartmouth College and the University Of Connecticut School of Medicine. He completed a residency in family medicine at the University of Vermont and subsequently a pediatric residency split between UVM and Boston University. He received his Masters in Public Health from Harvard University.
